Our mission at Livelihood™ is to make household payroll effortless so families can focus on the things they love to do. When founder Gila Ossip CPA, CA, MBA is not working, she is spending time with her 2 children Hanna and Elijah who are “growing up way too fast”!

Our goal at Livelihood™ is to help busy Canadian families by processing your caregiver payroll  – nanny, eldercare, housekeeper, and more. By using our services, you can rest easy knowing that all deductions are correctly made, CRA and Workman Safety remittances are processed, and your employee is always paid on time.

We only focus one one thing: payroll.

We are the leading experts in this field, and are referred to more often by CPA firms and nanny agencies than any other Canadian household payroll company.

All of us at Livelihood™ share a common goal: to make the lives of our clients easier and less stressful by ensuring that all payroll and reporting obligations for their caregivers are being attended to. Most of the Livelihood™ staff are both parents and employers of caregivers, and appreciate the need for a simple, comprehensive solution for all of their payroll needs.

Gila Ossip CPA, CA, MBA

President and Owner of Livelihood Household Payroll™

Livelihood Household Payroll™ was founded by Gila Ossip in 2008 as Tax4Nanny after numerous requests by friends and family to draw upon Gila’s experience as a Chartered Accountant. Gila was often asked nanny tax questions. She was also asked to help with remittances and with the preparation of tax forms for their caregivers.

After graduating from The Rotman School of Business at The University of Toronto, Gila began her career at Deloitte & Touche LLP. She then held a series of different positions at The Bank of Nova Scotia before founding Tax4Nanny Ltd. (now Livelihood™).

Gila was a founding member and past treasurer of the registered charity Nankind (previously Nanny Angel Network). Nankind is committed to providing compassionate relief childcare at no cost to mothers diagnosed with cancer. More information can be found at www.nankind.com.

April McCarell

April has been working in payroll for over 15 years and is very excited to be part of the Livelihood™ team. She lives in Woodstock with her family.

Alec Chan

Senior Account Manager

Alec starting working at Livelihood™ in 2015. He is a huge part of the success of our company as he enjoys helping families and he is very detailed orientated. In the fall of 2023, Alec will be furthering his studies and returning to school to study computer programming. Alec will continue to work at Livelihood™ part-time.

Dustin Power

Account Manager

Dustin has a computer accounting background that has made him a perfect fit at Livelihood, supporting the team, and clients.  With his attention to details and experience he has been a great addition to the Livelihood team.  At home he enjoys spending time with his family, and dog “Huxley”.
